Your Customer Number identifies your utility customer account in the building you live in. The meters for the utility services you have (electricity, gas or hot water) have numbers that are linked to this number. Your Customer Number is also your username to log onto your profile at MY UTILITY SHOP.
All retail utility meters have a number that identifies them, the National Metering Identifier (NMI). You are part of an embedded building, which has only one retail meter (gate meter) connected to the electricity grid. This gate meter is for the whole building. You don’t have an NMI number because your individual meter is not part of the National Energy Market (NEM). Your meter is a sub-meter, which has a unique meter number on it. This meter number appears on your Utility Shop customer account on your MY UTILITY SHOP profile and on your utility bill. The sub-meter used to measure your energy use is approved by the Australian Energy Regulator.
